Letter from the President:
Thank you for participating in the Evanston 4th of July parade. This tradition began in 1922 by the North End Mother's Club and continues today through the efforts of the all-volunteer Evanston Fourth of July Association, a nonprofit organization. We receive no city, state or federal tax dollars and are completely dependent upon the generous support of donors, the enthusiasm of volunteers, and the desire of individuals and groups to support those freedoms proclaimed in the Declaration of Independence.
The all day celebration begins at 9:00 am at eight (8) playground sites throughout the city providing games and activities for all ages, followed by a Fun Run along Central Street at 12:45 pm. The parade down Central St. kicks off at 2:00 pm. At 7:30 pm there is concert at the lakefront, and then the grand fireworks display at dusk.
Your involvement is welcomed. Your parade fee helps sustain the quality and quantity of events, entries and excitement offered to Evanston and the surrounding communities. We are sure your time and expense will be paid back many times over through the friendships, community building and memories recorded.
See You on the Fourth,
Tracy Alden, President
